How to Build Unstoppable Career Momentum in Your Career

I’m excited to share something very special with you today. This vlog marks our new branding adventure—one that’s been in the works since October ‘23 with the guidance of my incredible business coach, Fabienne Fredrickson. My team and I have created a platform specifically for underestimated women and leaders like myself to share ideas and strategies so that we can own our careers.

It’s also a space where organizations committed to building a healthy pipeline of empowering leaders can join the conversation and gain insights while sharing their thoughts. As we close out 2024, I invite you to create unstoppable momentum in your career. Let’s dive into three essential pathways that will help us achieve this goal.

 Elevate Your Energy

Creating an engaging, lively, and innovative energy in your workplace is essential. Whether your organization operates virtually, in person, or hybrid, the atmosphere you cultivate plays a significant role in your success. Imagine stepping into a space that breathes openness, creativity, collaboration, and a keen focus on getting results. Now, as leaders and individuals, we must reflect on the quality of the energy we bring into our careers daily.

For many women, the daily grind can feel overwhelming. We often find ourselves stretched thin, juggling numerous tasks at work and home. So, how exactly do we manage and cultivate a sense of wellness and well-being that supports building momentum in our careers?

My Daily Ritual: This is how I manage my energy. Most mornings, I start my day with a ritual that centers me. Even though it may sound repetitive or unnecessary, the ritual includes meditation and walking. Contrary to popular belief, meditation isn’t about sitting without thoughts; it’s about mindfulness—being present, noticing your thoughts, and letting them go without attachment. Spend five minutes each morning to center yourself, set your intention for the day, outline the top three things you’re grateful for, and plan the top three tasks you aim to accomplish. As for walking, I enjoy being out in nature and moving my body to energize me throughout the day while listening to podcasts on topics I gravitate toward, such as professional and personal development.

Clarify Your Vision

The second essential step in building unstoppable momentum is having a clear vision. Without it, we’re like a ship navigating without a compass. Whether you are at the top of your organization or just beginning, having a vision brings focus and energy to your journey.

My next book, launching in September 2025, will delve deeply into the value of creating a compelling vision. A clear vision helps you tap into resources and opportunities that might otherwise go unnoticed because they aren’t in your conscious awareness.

To craft this vision, take some time to sit in quiet reflection. Silence the noise around you and ask yourself, “What do I want to create?” If it feels like you don’t have control over your circumstances, remember: you have the power to set a vision and then reverse-engineer it into tangible goals.

We must balance the demands of daily business while clearly visualizing our future aims. Then, work backward to set actionable, measurable goals—daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly—that will help bring that vision into reality.

 Get the Right Support

Finally, getting support is neither a sign of weakness nor incapability. Quite the opposite! Intelligent, talented women understand the value of support systems to accelerate their progress and amplify their efforts.

I converse almost weekly with my business coach to strategize and clear any limiting beliefs or fears that pop up. Most recently, as I plan my third #1 bestseller–my impact intention–I consulted with my book coach to clarify my vision and identify the roadmap to bring this new project and book to reality in 2025.  Surrounding yourself with a community that offers guidance, resources, and emotional support can make an enormous difference in your journey. Collaboration is crucial for progress, whether you’re part of a workplace or a broader professional network.

Unfortunately, many professional environments foster a scarcity mentality, where women see each other as competitors for a limited number of ‘spots at the top.’ This mindset is counterproductive. Over the years, I’ve observed that the most successful initiatives are often collaborations. For my professional growth, I collaborate with industry leaders like Tony Robbins or his peers like Dean Graziosi and Jenna Kutcher and other mentors, magnifying my impact on behalf of our members and corporate partners.

Call to Action

My friends, it’s time to rethink how we build our careers and professional networks. Remember these three pathways: manage your energy, clarify your vision, and build your support network. These aren’t just steps; they’re a lifestyle to foster sustained growth and momentum in your career.
