My story began in the Dominican Republic. I arrived in the U.S. at 14 without speaking English and had to learn a new language, adjust to a different culture, find my footing, and begin creating a life in a country that was completely new to me.
I went on to build a 26-year career and life I loved in technology and financial services. Along the way, I faced plenty of challenges, self-doubt, and times when I had to figure out what I needed to learn, change, or do differently to elevate myself and move forward. Sometimes that meant taking a hard look at myself, and that wasn’t always comfortable.
After working with thousands of professionals and leaders, what means the most to me is helping others recognize that they have choices too. We can’t control what happens around us; however, we can decide how we respond, what we think, how we behave, and what we want to do next.
