Statistically speaking, it’s a miracle that I was able to attend college let alone become a CEO.

Growing up in a small village near Haiti in the Dominican Republic, I often wondered where my life would lead. Surrounded by hopelessness and disrespect toward women, I was determined to escape that fate, inspired by my mother’s courage.

My mother, a teacher, left an abusive relationship to forge a better life for us in America, leaving me with our kind landlord, Nuni. At 14, I joined her in New York, embracing the promise of a brighter future for my brothers and me.

it might sound cliche…

BUT I TRULY DO BELIEVE THAT EDUCATION CAN SET YOU FREE.

Second only to that plane ticket to New York that my mom made possible, my ongoing pursuit of education has allowed me to succeed.

After learning English in high school, I earned a BA in Computer Science and Economics. Then, while working full-time, I completed an MBA in Management, an MS in Computer Science, and a Ph.D. in Information Systems. To support my son, other leaders, and women, I transitioned from a corporate career to become a Certified Professional Coach (CPC) accredited by the International Coaching Federation (ICF).

Today, I am committed to offering education and professional growth opportunities for leaders, creating more seats at the table for women in challenging careers who feel they have had to claw their way to the top.
